What is the raffle about?
It is a charity raffle organized by Spew2Win to raise funds and support the victims of the cyclone “Yaku” that has mainly affected the northern coast and central Peru.
The rainy season intensified strongly this year so that there have been reports of increased river flows, overflowing of rivers, floods and landslides that have significantly affected thousands of people in the region.
The National Institute of Civil Defense reported a little more than 9,000 victims and around 65,000 people affected. Regrettably, it was also reported that 65 people have lost their lives as a result of this natural phenomenon and 128 were injured.
In terms of material resources, the losses have also been considerable, with 45 classrooms destroyed, 543 affected and 133 that are not in habitable conditions.
In terms of health, 5 health centers were destroyed, 105 with considerable damage and 10 more were left uninhabitable.
Finally, in terms of housing, there is also considerable damage with 1,521 homes destroyed, 2,148 uninhabitable and 27,843 affected.
